Working with Components Center

The Datagroup system interface, typically the Catalog Editor is integrated with components center, that can be accessed to utilize the parametric cell components created in the components center repository.
Note: To add new catalog items using the components center, the host Catalog type should have ParaDef definition included to it.
  1. Access Catalog Editor, and access the Components Center in the workflow of creating new catalog item, via:

Select New > New Catalog Item from Components Center

    or

For selected Catalog Type in tree, right-click > New Catalog Item from Components Center

    The Components Center explorer opens.
Note: The Component Center is normally accessed using the (Place Component) tool via the ribbon Object > Place Component on Architectural > Place Architectural Elements or on Strauctural > Place Building Elements tab.
  2. Select the desired component from the repository list. For a valid format component, the Select button enables.
  3. After the Select button is clicked, opens the Properties dialog for the selected component. In the <Component_Name> Properties dialog set the Destination, File name and UDL file details, as required in your design and click OK. The component entry then appears in the Catalog Items tree in the left pan of Catalog Editor.
  4. Save and refresh the Datagroup system. The newly created catalog item will be available for placement.
Once integrated, use such newly created digital components for placing as part of design using the place component or via the place RFA tools across your user base remotely.
